♻️ Community Collection Hubs are accessible recycling stations where everyone can drop off various items. At the Riverlution Eco Hub Collection Station, we manage six distinct recycling streams:

🥤 Food and Beverage Cartons (e.g., Tetra Pak):

Drop off inside the Riverlution Eco Hub during working hours.
Preparation: Open the carton, cut along the top and side, fully open and rinse it, and leave the cap attached.
📦 If you have a large quantity, please bring them in cardboard boxes.

🛢️ Aluminium:

Accepted items: Soft drink/beer cans, can tabs, wine bottle tops, aluminium foil, some cat food cans, and lids.

🔧 Steel:

Accepted items: Jar lids, beer bottle tops, clean food cans (e.g., baked beans), magnetic can tabs, wine bottle cage tops.
🧲 We have a magnet available to test if an item is steel.

🍟 Chip Packets and Foil (in collaboration with the Chip Packet Project New Zealand):

🧼 Make sure to rinse and dry these items as food residue can attract mice.
Only large and regular-sized chip packets are accepted—smaller packets should go into the soft plastic scheme at supermarkets.

🪒 Razors & Oral Care Products:

Accepted items: Razors, blades (any brand), toothpaste tubes and caps, floss containers, toothbrushes, mouthwash bottles (Colgate brand only).

🧴 Plastic Numbers 2 & 5 (smaller than a yogurt pottle):

Please ensure the items are thoroughly cleaned, with stickers and inside seals removed.
We accept HDPE (small lids with chasing arrows 2) and PP (large lids with chasing arrows 5).

🔄 Additional Collection:
We are now participating in the Lids and Caps Recall Scheme as part of the Packaging Forum.

We can collect other plastic caps and lids inside the hub, even if they don’t fall into the above categories.
