🎉🎉✨ What an incredible day we had at the Richmond Gala! The weather was perfect, and the community vibe was just fantastic. We couldn’t have asked for a better turnout and a more enjoyable time together! One of the highlights was the long-awaited relocation of the Riverlution Cafe to its final spot 🏞️, treating everyone to delicious scones by Cook Sam Parish 🍪 and coffee from Prima Roastery ☕️. The beats from DJ Cazza 🎶 and the captivating performances by the Scottish dancers 🏴 were a definite hit, adding to the festive atmosphere. The car boot sale was bustling with over 60 participants 🚗, offering a plethora of treasures to be discovered 💎. Our main garden was abuzz with various activities and community initiatives, showcasing the vibrant spirit of our community 🌟. The Preserve Competition was a resounding success 🏆, and we’re pleased to announce the winners: Jam Category 🍓: 1st Recreate with Plum Jam; 2nd Rhonda Farmer with Damson Jam; 3rd Jan Dobson with Crabapple Jelly. Chutney Category 🌶️: 1st Cassandra May from Kaiapoi Community Garden; 2nd Climate Action Campus with Ron Relish; 3rd Recreate with Hot Apricot Chutney. Drinks & Vinegars Category 🍹: 1st Feijoa Vinegar; 2nd Pear Vinegar; 3rd Apricot Juice, all by Jo Seizova. People’s Choice 🗳️: Green Fig Slatko by Jo Seizova. Attendees had the opportunity to sample these delectable delights 🍽️, and our team thoroughly enjoyed tasting them as well post-event. We extend our gratitude to the numerous fantastic organizations, dedicated volunteers, and overall community heroes who made this event possible 🙌. Most of all, a big thank you to the community for showing up and making it such a memorable and enjoyable day, especially with the beautiful weather we were blessed with ☀️.
